A Rare Glimpse

It's been awhile...

hey, i know it has been 2 and a half weeks since i last posted something! woo! a lot has happened since. let's see....i moved into kingston sept. 1st, but since i still had to work out phone and internet (didn't realize that getting sympatico internet required a landline), i returned to toronto with my parents after dropping everything off in my living room. returned to kingston with chris on friday, sept. 3rd (thanks chris!). i've since hooked up internet with cogeco, and bought a cellphone (very convenient!).
on monday, sept. 6, being a holiday, chris and i went for a road trip up to ottawa to visit samantha (from carleton). it was fun, exploring parliament hill and the cat city behind it (for strays), eating beaver tails, and having a delicious spaghetti dinner cooked by sam. i got to drop by and say hi to a church friend's sister, who lived across the street from sam. on the return trip that same day, chris and i got to stop just outside kingston to check out the evening sky, full of stars and the milky way! God is so amazing! the only thing sad about the trip is that on the way to ottawa, we witnessed a terrible single-car accident in progress. according to news, the car veered off the 401 and slammed into a wall of solid rock, killing an 18-yr-old female, and leaving a 19-yr-old female in serious condition. they were americans, heading back to michigan after visiting a friend. please pray for the two girls' families, and the surviving girl's recovery. reminded us how valuable life is.
on thursday, sept. 9th, my housemate jacqueline moved in, but it was pouring rain! poor jacqs. her mattress was completely soaked on the trip here into kingston.
yesterday, there was a frosh week sidewalk sale, with all kinds of free stuff, cheap stuff, and clubs booths. helped out with manning the navs booth for a few hours in the morning, and helped out a bit with the frosh week navs bbq in the early evening. a bunch of ppl came out, and it was nice to meet new faces.
today, jacqueline and i decided to see if we could find some furniture and other things, so we ended up going to a few dollar stores (they sell lots of good stuff at dollar stores these days!) and value village. and guess what? we managed to pick up a small tv for $13, and a george foreman grill for $6!! what a deal! then we had to carry it all home. he he.....almost didn't think we'd be able to get everything home, but we did it.
i guess that's all for now. oh no, wait. Way to go Canadian hockey! :P
